King America Finishing, Incorporated “Where Quality and Service Finish First” |
|
When King America was originally constructed in 1964, there were 72,000 square feet. Today, the main plant is over 400,000 square feet and houses all of the wet processing equipment and support groups, along with customer service and administrative functions. In September 2005, another facility located nearby was acquired. That facility is over 240,000 square feet and will be used to store greige goods for our commission customers and associated businesses while awaiting processing or scheduling instructions. In addition, some finished products will be stored at this facility. Today King employs around 175 people making us one of the largest employers in our area. Our yearly payroll is approximately 6.8 million dollars. Our employees come from 5 counties thus allowing us to impact and benefit many communities. King can process over 50 million yards of fabric annually. This is enough fabric to stretch from the northernmost point in Maine across Canada and the Great Lakes to the furthest point in California some 2, 713 miles away not once, but 10.5 times. From a more global viewpoint, this amount of fabric would stretch completely around the world covering some 24,901 miles and then go an additional 7500 miles! We pump our water from two deep artesian wells from the Floridian aquifer. We manage our own waste treatment facility which empties back into the Ogeechee River. The Ogeechee is the cleanest river in Georgia and some of the best fishing in the area can be enjoyed behind our plant. King is located on 940 acres of some of the best hunting land in the area. |
